nothing but praise
I’d only heard good things about the Hudson Children’s Book Festival, and after being there yesterday, I understood why! It takes a dedicated team of hard workers to pull off a successful literary event, and the organizers thought of everything—how to get people to the school (there was a trolley!), lunch options for the authors and illustrators, and even a gift bag filled with chocolate, a t-shirt, and a little whale pin…Hudson was once a whaling town, so the whale’s their official mascot. My taxi driver gave me an impromptu history lesson on the way back to the train station, and I saw dozens of yellow butterflies throughout the two-hour ride back to the city…a great event and a really nice day. Many thanks to the organizers, their many volunteers, and all the folks who chose to spend such a gorgeous day inside with books!
